Free of Guilt

Matthew 11:28-30

Psalm 139:1-2 "O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I'm far away."

So, He knows your heart, He knows my heart, He knows our thoughts, he knows everything about us, and what amazes me is this verse in Matthew, it only specifies for those who are weary and heavy carry heavy burdens. It doesn't say if you have your life together come to me or if you've stopped sinning come to me, no, He says: "All of you, who are weary and carry heavy burdens, come I will give you rest."

A constant struggle for believers and non-believers

For believers, when we fall, we feel unworthy because we fell again and we believe that we no longer deserve to be children of God, but Jesus says: COME!

That should be the constant posture of the Christian walk, go to Him, go and continue going to Jesus. And for someone who is not yet walking in faith and is living a life without God, perhaps a destructive and sinful lifestyle, just like I had in the past, maybe you're thinking as I used to, that you could not go to God because you had sinned too much, that you had done too much for God to pay attention to you or forgive you, but Jesus says: COME! We are not saved by what we do or have done, salvation is a gift from God, and we can find it in the book of Ephesians 2. So all we have to do is respond by faith by going to Him.

How does it feel when you finally go to Jesus?

"Finally, I confessed all my sin to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself: I will confess my rebellion to the Lord! And you forgave me, all my guilt is gone." Psalm 32:5

I believe that is what the Lord wants to do in your life, maybe there is something in your life right now that is causing you to not want to come to Him or to doubt the ability that you have to come to Him and it is good that you know that without Christ you have no ability, you cannot come to Him without Him. However, the good news is that this is why Jesus went to the cross so that you and I can come before Him so that He can take our sins so that He can cover us with His love and give us rest.

There is no sin too great that can make Jesus ever reject you

If you are alive today, there is still a chance. God is asking you to come, where you are and how you are, it doesn't matter, just come, He will do the work in your life.

Remember, do not try to fix your life before coming to Him, you will not be able to do it with your own strength. We must come to Him as we are, He does the work, He makes the change, so just come closer.
